Luxembourg may be a small country both in terms of geography and their presence on the world's music stage, but perhaps their biggest export is the sound of the shoegaze-influenced indie rock trio Francis of Delirium. Lighthouse, their towering debut, is packed full of stormy squall and swells so massive they threaten to topple the whole thing over the edge of a rocky cliff.

I'm grateful that they traveled almost halfway around the world to play at a dingy basement venue down the street from me in Seattle where I could witness their electric energy (and guitars) firsthand as they powered through a set of bangers and ballads from the debut album as well as some deeper cuts from their early EPs, all culminating in a heartfelt singalong of "Give It Back to Me" that closed out the set. You wouldn’t expect these European misfits to pack such a punch, especially after hearing their endearing and down-to-earth stage banter, but it’s definitely packed and fits effortlessly in the confines of this slab of vinyl.
